The City
of Orlando is accepting applications for Firefighter between now and
January 7, 2008.
To qualify,
candidates must be Florida-certified Firefighter/EMTs or
Firefighter/Paramedics. The first step is to complete a pre-application
online. Use the following link to get to the City’s Jobs page—
cityoforlando.net/sigma,
click Login, then click Register. You will need an email address to do
so. Then go to the Job Openings page and scroll down to find
Firefighter.
If you are
unable to complete the pre-application online, you may come to Human
Resources at City Hall, 400 South Orange Avenue, in downtown Orlando,
and pick up an information packet and pre-application form. If you live
out-of-town and cannot apply online, call 407-246-2064 to have a packet
mailed to you.
General
Information
The minimum requirements for Firefighters at City of
Orlando include:
United
States citizenship
Certification as a Firefighter in the State of Florida
and
Certification as an EMT or Paramedic in the State of Florida
The City of
Orlando does not recognize reciprocity, national certifications, nor do
we accept certifications from other states.
If you
already have those certifications and are interested in working for the
Orlando Fire Department, please submit a pre-application online at
cityoforlando.net/sigma.
