When you are recognized by the Presiding Officer, please state your name and address, and speak directly into the microphone. The Council is interested in hearing relevant comments; however, a 5-minute limit is set by City Code Section 2.44 unless expanded or reduced by a majority vote on the Council. Large groups are encouraged to name a spokesperson. Unless otherwise specified in the City Code, Robert's Rules of Order govern the conduct of the meeting.
If you have any documents to be considered by Council, please hand them to the City Clerk in advance of your comments. It is suggested that you bring nine copies so each Council member may have a complete package plus one for the City Attorney and one for the City Clerk. When a hearing or an item is continued, a specific time and date generally will be announced at the originally-scheduled meeting.
