Every year, Commissioner Sheehan is proud and honored to attend and participate in the Vietnamese community's celebration of Tet, the Vietnamese and Chinese Lunar New Year.  Tet is the sacred festival which occurs between late January or early February, depending on the Lunar calendar, and is considered the most important festival of Vietnamese people.  The event is generally always held at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.  The commissioner always presents a proclamation from her office proclaiming the day of the festival as TÊT NGUYÊN DÁN DAY.
