Mayor Joins Volunteers to Cleanup Lake Ivanhoe Shoreline

Lake Ivanhoe Clean-upAs part of his Strengthen Orlando plan, Mayor Dyer has transitioned his series of work-alongs to focus primarily on community service. On Tuesday, June 16, Mayor Dyer rolled up his sleeves with more than 30 Keep Orlando Beautiful (KOB) and Florida Hospital Church volunteers to clean the shoreline of Lake Ivanhoe. Administered by the City of Orlando's Streets and Stormwater Division of the Public Works Department, KOB is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization engaged in numerous community cleanup and beautification events. Mayor Dyer and the volunteers collected 340 pounds of litter and debris in two hours.

Ethos Vegan Kitchen also participated in the clean-up by providing a free cookie to all registered volunteers. Ethos is located at 1235 N. Orange Ave. and is part of the Buy Local Orlando program.
