2009 CITY OF ORLANDO HISTORIC PRESERVATION
BOARD CALENDAR TO INCLUDE RESIDENT PHOTOS

WHAT: The City of Orlando Historic Preservation Board is seeking photographs for the 2009 Historic Preservation Calendar. This 2009 calendar will focus on the architectural features of the Lake Copeland Historic District (see map). The Historic Preservation Board is looking for hobby photographers to capture the uniqueness and distinct styles of the historic Lake Copeland neighborhood in black and white pictures. The best pictures will be included in the 2009 calendar.

The City of Orlando has produced the popular Historic Preservation Board Calendar since 1991 as a depiction of Orlando’s treasured historic resources. The 2009 focus of the calendar is the Lake Copeland neighborhood; an area that was almost entirely developed before the Great Depression and contains some of Orlando’s most magnificent homes including the S. J. Sligh House; this district was established in 1984 and contains approximately 110 residences. A variety of architectural styles can be found in this historic district including Colonial, Mediterranean, Neoclassical and Tudor Revivals, Bungalow and Minimal Traditional.
