ORLANDO TO SALUTE VETERANS AT ANNUAL PARADE
ORLANDO, FL (October 8, 2003) – The City of Orlando and Orange County have joined forces this year to honor the courage and commitment of those who serve our country by hosting the 4th Annual Orlando Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 8, 2003, at 11 a.m. in Downtown Orlando. Mayor Buddy Dyer and Orange County Chairman Richard Crotty will lead the 100-unit parade as various military units, vehicles, floats, marching bands, ROTC units, honor guards and representation from most of Central Florida’s Veterans organizations follow. The parade route begins at Robinson St. and Rosalind Ave., heads south on Rosalind, west on Pine St., and north on Orange Ave., ending at Robinson and Orange. Spectators are invited to line the parade route and show support for our veterans, active duty, reserve military and National Guard members for their substantial contributions in the name of freedom. Proud supporters of this event include the Orlando Utilities Commission, Central Florida News 13, Bright House Networks, the Downtown Development Board, BIVOUAC, Jones Lang LaSalle, Florida Office Property Company, Baldwin Fairchild, Dignity Memorial, Lynx and the Navy Federal Credit Union.
