CAPTAIN JOSEPH ROBINSON NAMED CITY OF ORLANDO DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF
ORLANDO, FL (December 15, 2003) – Mayor Buddy Dyer Monday announced that Joseph M. Robinson has been named deputy chief of staff to incoming chief of staff Wayne Rich. Captain Robinson is a twenty-three year member of the Orlando Police Department. For the last seven years, he has been assigned as a special assistant to the Mayor. Joe previously served as a SWAT team leader, public information officer, special patrol section commander, gang intervention unit commander and recruiting and training section commander. Robinson is also a speaker in both public and corporate fields and has trained thousands of federal, state and local law enforcement officers, military personnel and security and government officials --including those in foreign countries such as Argentina, Brazil and Russia. He has appeared regularly as the co-host of “Inside Orlando,” a Telly Award-winning local program produced by the City of Orlando. He has been married for more than twenty six years to the former Virginia Martinez and they have two grown children, Melisa Parkinson and Joe. He has been an active advocate for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) and currently serves as the volunteer chair of the NMSS Mid-Florida Chapter.
