ORLANDO, FL (October 27, 2005)--- District 1 Commissioner Phil Diamond invites
citizens to join him at the annual District 1 Picnic at Wadeview Park to
celebrate the long awaited renovations.
Children of all ages can participate in a variety of family-friendly activities
at Saturday’s picnic including moonwalks, “Chaos” a 360-degree obstacle course,
face painting, a putting green, and demonstrations by the Orlando Police
Department and the Orlando Fire Department, as well as musical entertainment. In
addition, there will be plenty of hamburgers, hotdogs, ice cream treats, and
drinks.
Citizens will be able to enjoy food on the park’s new picnic tables and relax on
the new benches. In addition, children can play in the brand new playground area
that includes a tot lot. Other Wadeview Park renovations include a new restroom
building, grills, pavilions, several new trash receptacles, new sidewalks, and
scenic landscaping. Also, the existing shelters and exercise equipment have been
repaired and repainted.
