Communications - Dispatcher
Minimum Qualifications: •United States
Citizen
•High School Graduate plus one (1) year experience with
computers and/or communications systems. •Must type 25 wpm.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Must obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD)
Certificate within six (6) months of employment and maintain
license while employed.
•All employees required to complete 32 Hr EMD refresher
every 2 yrs. •Employees holding
EMT
certifications required to complete 32 Hr EMT
refresher every 2 years.
NATURE OF WORK: Performs skilled work in emergency fire communications.
Employees assigned to this classification receive, screen, and
dispatch major emergency calls for fire, emergency medical
services, and aircraft emergencies; provide limited medical
advice and prepare various reports. Work is performed under the
supervision of a Emergency Communications Shift Supervisor and
performance is reviewed while in progress for technical accuracy
and judgment through direct observation and results obtained
Fire
Prevention Inspector 1
Fire Prevention Inspector I
Minimum starting salary: $ 16.56 per hour
Grade: CCG05
NATURE OF WORK:
Performs specialized field and office work in fire
prevention with responsibility for enforcement of fire
safety codes, laws, and ordinances and includes
inspection of commercial buildings to insure compliance.
Initiative and judgment must be exercised to recognize
fire hazards and acquire code compliance. Field work
exposes employee to varying weather conditions,
chemicals, noxious fumes, insects, heights and confined
areas. Work is performed under general supervision,
according to established guidelines, and is reviewed
through daily conferences.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School Graduate or equivalent with six months to
one year experience in fire inspection, fire prevention
or related field; or an equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience. Must possess and
maintain State of Florida Municipal Fire Safety
Inspector's Certification and a valid Florida driver's
license.
