The Orlando Fire Department honored their own at Medal Day 2008.   Orlando Firefighters were recognized for exceptional performance of duty, team efforts during emergency situations, and acts of courage and bravery.   The Award recipients for EMT of the Year, Paramedic of the Year, and Firefighter of the Year were also announced.

CLASS III AWARD

An Award of Commendation may be awarded to an Orlando Firefighter for exceptional performance of duty at an emergency situation, involving a degree of risk.

 

CLASS IV AWARD

A Meritorious Service Award may be presented to an Orlando Firefighter for service which would entail such actions encompassing exceptional courage, bravery, and/or the saving of a life involving a degree of risk.

On August 6 the new hit television show CALL 911 will feature the Grove Apartment Fire from September 2007.

The show will air on the Investigative Discovery Channel at 8:00 PM.
