September

Florida Coastal Cleanup, Saturday, September 19th, 9am-11am.  This effort is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, which will take place the same day in 104 countries and 42 US states. During the 2008 event, more than 32,000 Floridians cleaned nearly 2,000 miles of shoreline and collected 409,000 pounds of garbage! Just in Orlando, 7,200 pounds of trash were removed from seven lakes by 520 volunteers. We need your help again this year!

October

WMMO Free Downtown Concert Series, Saturday, October 3rd.  Artist is Credence Clearwater Revisited.  We need volunteers to help with recycling and education efforts during the concert. Come help us keep thousands of beverage containers out of the landfill!  We have two shifts available, 4pm-8pm and 8pm-12am.  Or, you are of course welcome to come for the entire event.  Please e-mail or call Jody at 407-246-2752 for more information or to sign up.  Limited volunteer spots available.

Ivanhoe Village Main Street Free Fall Festival, Saturday, October 10th, 7:30pm-9:30pm.  Volunteers needed to help break down and clean up after festival.  The festival takes place from 1-7pm and is located on N Orange Ave & Virginia Dr at Lake Ivanhoe.  You can enjoy the fest before assisting with the clean up.  Beverages will be provided to all volunteers.  For more information and to participate, please email Charles or call him at 407-484-5839.    

Lake Fran Cleanup, Saturday, October 24th, 9am-11am.  Help Disney and KOB remove litter from around Lake Fran in MetroWest.  All supplies provided, including water and a light snack.  For more information and to participate, e-mail or call Jody at 407-246-2752.

November

Engelwood Neighborhood Cleanup, Saturday, November 14th, 9am-12pm. 
Join us to help make the neighborhood sparkle!  We will be removing litter, applying storm drain markings, and sprucing up some right of ways throughout the area.  We are meeting at the Engelwood Neighborhood Center at 6123 LaCosta Drive.  Water and light snacks provided.  Local schools will be participating.  This is a great way to earn some community service hours for scholarships, etc..  See you there!  Any questions, please call 407.246.2752 or send an e-mail.

Florida Classic Cleanup, Monday, November 23rd, 9am-12pm.  Join us for a classic road, lake and park cleanup after the Florida Classic Football Game event.  We need your help removing litter from around Lake Lorna Doone and the Florida Citrus Bowl.  Meet at Lorna Doone Park, intersection of Tampa Ave. and Church St., on the west side of the lake.
