Welcome to
the Traffic Studies & Neighborhood Traffic Management Webpage
(Program 755)
The Traffic Studies & Neighborhood Traffic
Management Program receives and responds to many individual requests for traffic investigations each month. These investigations look
into the need for such things as traffic signs, signals, pavement markings, increased
police enforcement, street lighting, and many other traffic
operation issues. Listed below are several programs that we have established in
order to organize and concentrate staff effort using set guidelines.
This program responds to concerns about excessive
vehicular speeds. Voluntary
compliance with the posted speed limit is encouraged using specialized trailers equipped
with radar driven digital display boards. To access the Traffic Safety Awareness
page click on the section title above. To jump to the current month's
schedule of trailer placements click on the trailer photograph.
This program represents the City's commitment to accommodate growth in a manner
that protects the established character of its neighborhoods. The Neighborhood Traffic
Management Policy provides a process for identifying and addressing traffic issues on
local residential streets relating to "Quality of Life" (i.e.: excessive
vehicular speed and volume). Click on the speed hump photograph above to visit the
Traffic Calming Library where you can download our popular brochures, traffic calming
photographs and traffic calming device drawings.
Traffic counts are a major component of most traffic
engineering
studies. You can view a list of the most recent traffic volume
count data by clicking on the counter icon
on the right.
