| Performs administrative and professional and supervisory public relations work in the area of public assembly management. An employee assigned to this classification is responsible for assisting in the development of promotion, advertising and group sales programs for the Carr Performing Arts Center, the Orlando Arena and other Centroplex facilities. Duties include the design of promotional material such as ads, fliers, calendars, newsletters, and brochures; coordinating public relations activities with the community and media representatives; placing local and national advertising. Work is performed under general supervision of the Deputy Director and performance is reviewed through reports submitted, conferences, and results obtained. | |

Participates in the development of a comprehensive promotion and advertising plan for the Orlando Arena and the Carr Performing Arts Centre to establish a broad public awareness and to maximize events held at Centroplex facilities.
Promotes events by developing fliers and brochures, creating advertisements and placing them with newspapers, local civic groups, radio and television stations and other sources in order to increase public awareness and event ticket sales.
Develops and supervises the group sales program by soliciting corporate, senior, scout and civic groups through presentations and telemarketing; monitors group sales activities to ensure program policies and procedures are properly implemented.
Designs, performs lay out and coordinates the printing and distribution of event brochures, group calendars and marketing kits in order to provide information about the facilities and their events.
Assists with advertising campaigns and related issues to ensure comprehensive coverage of planned events.
Updates and distributes media schedules, event mailings and generates press releases.
Maintains a computerized database and develops mailing list.
Assists in the maintenance of event records (i.e. attendance, fact and figures).
Performs other related duties as needed to facilitate the accomplishment of centroplex objectives. | |

Knowledge of advertising techniques and principles needed to work with advertising and printing firm representatives to effect design and preparation of advertising copy, sales and promotional literature.
Knowledge of the principles, theories, philosophy and techniques of marketing, promotion and advertising.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with promoters, news media representatives, clients and the general public.
Ability to apply sound marketing and advertising principles and techniques.
Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely both written and verbal.
Ability to speak publicly to group sales clients and make presentations.
Ability to understand and accurately interpret Centroplex policies.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and pay attention to minute details of numerous issues at one time, relating to the marketing, and promotion of events for Centroplex facilities. | |

| Associate Degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications field plus a minimum of two (2) years experience in the development and administration of marketing, advertising, and promotion programs, preferably for a major convention center, arena or similar public assembly facility; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Must possess valid Florida Driver License. |
